Campaigns and invitations

Create, discover, or join a Campaign and understand the roles around its table.

A Campaign is one shared story with one current Scene timeline. Its Characters, rules, world time, Items, Effects, Intents, dice, and consequences remain part of the same authoritative state.

Roles around the Campaign

Roles can be combined, but one role does not silently include another:

  • the Owner controls the Campaign lifecycle and funds generated Campaign work;
  • a Dungeon Master receives the authorised story and gameplay tools;
  • a Moderator receives the authorised member and access tools; and
  • a Player joins the party with a Character and submits Intents.

Creating a Campaign makes you its Owner, but does not automatically make you a Player.

Joining a Campaign

You can request to join a public Campaign or redeem an invitation created by a Campaign manager. Following a public Campaign only bookmarks it. A Follow does not create membership or grant private access.

Player, Moderator, and Dungeon Master invitation codes are redeemed from the Campaign Browser. A Player invitation grants the role, but the Player must still select an eligible Character.

A View invitation is different. It opens read-only Campaign viewing in a browser and does not create native Campaign membership. Treat every private invitation code as a credential and share it only with its intended recipient.

Your Character

Player participation connects one eligible Character to the Campaign. Once committed, Campaign changes to the Character, Items, Effects, and resources remain authoritative parts of that participation.

An Away Character stays committed but is temporarily removed from active play and required Intents. When Campaign control of a Character ends, the Character owner may need to complete a private Outcome Review before the commitment is released.

Returning later

Open the Campaign again to see the current Scene, party state, and next required action. Mythborne keeps the shared state on the Server, so changing devices does not create a separate copy of the Campaign.
